TzTouch and Engine Data

I would like to Display the engine data of my Volvo Penta D-2 40 "on Screen".

Obviously some Kind of converter is needed to Transfer the engine data to the Navnet.

Is there any known "best practice" to do this without try & error?

According to the Volvo Penta Accessories page, you'll need their NMEA2000 interface. If you have a NMEA2000 backbone on your boat, the interface and the TZTouch display will go to the backbone. The TZTouch operator's manual (page 10-2) provides instrument display information. The engine instrument display on the TZTouch will show an analog/digital tach, RPM, engine temp gauge w/high temp light, oil pressure gauge and warning light for engine trouble other than overheating if the appropriate PGN is received. The TZTouch engine data uses PGN127489 as its source.
