TZTL12F does not see DRS4D

Before I figure out sector blanking, I need to have a working radar. I just mounted the radar, made the power and communication connections in it, ran the power end of the cable to a PSU-017, and the ethernet end to the TZT2 via a female-female coupler and Cat5 extension cable.

The PSU-017 green light is lit, but the TZT2 does not recognize any radar sensor. I have tried different couplers and different Cat5 cables. There is no way to connect the cable from the DRS4D directly to the TZT2, as they are too far away from each other.

Any help is appreciated.

Good morning Colemj,

Thank you for your inquiry.

How far is the cable run?

Have you tried an Ethernet signal tester to see if you have good continuity with the ethernet cable?

It would also be good to verify that the DRS4D is getting power at the dome. A simple multimeter test to verify the DRS4D is getting 48vdc up at the dome would be the next thing to try. If you choose to perform test, it would also be good to verify the condition of the ethernet cable that goes into the DRS4D. You could also try another Cat5 cable from the dome to your Ethernet couplers. Not sure if you have tried this yet, there could be a fault with the supplied radar cable that comes with the DRS4D.

Thank you, I found the issue. Going back up the mast and checking connections, I found the RJ45 terminal on the Furuno cable had one of its plastic contact separators bent over the contact. Carefully straightening it to open the contact area with a small screwdriver solved the communication problem.
