The log file will normally go back to the last factory reset/clear. Anyone that has a continuing problem should open an official support case with tech support and providing the log file is a good start to see what might causing an issue. Duplicate waypoints can cause rebooting as can any bad user data like corrupt tracks.

So where do I post this log file?
or send

Thanks

Until now. Past two days of fishing the same unit has shut down completely while running in on autopilot. Will not come back up until the whole electrical system is shut down and the boat sits for hours. Again its got a fan blowing right on the unit. Seavee has installed tons of furuno units in their boats. Today when it shut down the unit had only been on for 4.5 hours.

It always seems to happen when on autopilot headed to the inlet.

Do I need to open another service ticket? Can I get someone on the boat in the field? This is extremely frustrating on a 15 month old boat with brand new equipment.

Machine booted right up today and flashed in a yellow box at the top "
"NO MASTER CHART FOUND"

this continued for 15 seconds and then quit

??

It sounds like either the proper chart master setting has been turned off or got cleared during a factory reset, or the unit has unlock codes for charts that don't match the chart master currently being used. This can happen if someone turned the setting on for the wrong unit which wasn't the master prior.

upon research, the machine that is not crashing is the chart master and was not turned on when this machine was rebooted this am.

Then the notice you had about the charts was most likely stating that the chart master was turned off and that your charts would be limited to XX power cycles until it sees the master. This happens if the chart master is turned off for several power cycles and the slave doesn't see legal licence to the charts it currently has unlocked. That isn't an error but a notice.

Thank you. Figured that out last night. Im thinking a master reset including the odometer is going to fix the issue and am going to try that tonight

For all experiencing this issue (which I hope isn't many) I am happy to say Furuno tech support has been all over this with me. I back tracked when I installed waypoints from a friends furuno machine (which happens to be doing the same thing) and when the machine started acting up. Turns out is was very soon thereafter. Working with tech we exported all the waypoints and converted them into an excel format. I've sorted them by gps number and marked about 40-50 I have been fishing over the past month for Red Snapper and Grouper.
THen I individually with the other machine off, backed up the user settings, did a master reset of the machine and a master reset of the ODOMETER. Reinstalled user settings and manually input the 40-50 waypoints mentioned above.

I'm happy to report the machines operated flawlessly.

Fingers crossed this is the fix. If you are running 6.21 software, the odometer reset is a must!

So I am working through the process now. I did the factory rest through the serviceman screen on the master MFD.

This should encompass the odometer and not require a separate reset for it correct?

So I have followed all of the instructions precisely and did all the necessary resets. Against my better judgement, I also did not reload the old data until I was running without reboots.

I have not had any reboots but my machine will also not see my saved waypoints I previously had, we are talking over 800 points.

Now I am unable to load the waypoint file back in. No matte what I do the MFD does not see the usb stick and I cannot get my waypoints back in.

This is very frustrating to have to be dealing w this w brand new equipment.

Any advice?
files were saved as .csv files
Duplicate waypoints removed and resaved w excel.

Even cleared and reformatted the usb stick (ms dos fat32)

nothing

Update
Exported all my waypoints off a friends MFD...we share all the same waypoints and Furuno MFD/s .... Exported in .tzd and transferred the waypoints successfully.

However, as an experiment, when I tried this in .CSV , it would not work.

The MFD gave me a warning screen saying "CSV export partially succeeded, due to format limitations"
-2000 points max
-200 Routes max
-10000track points max

yet there were barely any points on the machine.

On my pc I could see the waypoint file, but the mfd could not when I tried to re-import

but, It could see the group .cvs file ....very strange

I have a TZT2 15 in the lower helm of our trawler, and it has shut down and rebooted a few times over the past few years.

The upper helm only has a canvas Bimini so the TZT 15 is exposed to the sun in the morning in the afternoon. It has shut down and rebooted quite a few times, and come to think of it, it was probably occurring when the sun was hitting it.

I will keep it covered unless needed, and see if that helps.
