Hi, have recently purchased a DI-FFAMP and a CM599LH, I have searched for pictures regarding wiring with interfacing with the DI-FFAMP without any success.

I am looking for installation pictures with the transducer wires connected to the connectors as to get a clear understanding of the shield bare wire and drain wire on the HF and the LF side as I find the wiring diagram in the installation document not clear regarding the shield and drain wire configuration.

If any one can provide some real life pictures of the connections that would be very helpful for clarification. thanks in advance if u can upload.

Thanks

There are manuals on the furuno usa main website under fish finders then nav net fish finders then select di-ffamp. Then tech support and manuals.

Hi, I just install the same stuff on my boat.
We checked everything ten times and still nothing on the sounder screen. Screen is completly with and nothing.
No depht. Nothing!
Did it worked for at the first start or did you had to di stuff in the setting??
I ‘m desperate 😔
If somebody had this trouble and could help??🤷

Ensure that you have all four or five cables connected to your DI-FFAMP. We commonly see a cable missed.
Power, Communications interconnect cable (between DI-FFAMP and TZT3), Transducer interconnect cable (between DI-FFAMP and TZT3), and one or two transducer cables depending on how many transducers you have installed.
Ensure that you do not have Key Pulse turned on if you do not have the wiring installed for it.
If all that is correct, I would give Furuno France a call.

Thanks Jsubzero I have installed as per the manual and appreciate Fishtech's picture upload for conformation.

I have downloaded the manual again today and have noticed the picture is different please see upload where the drain wire is absent on LF and HF now!

Snips or Johnny can you please confirm what is now correct as I am currently having issues with the LF of the DI-FFAMP where it intermittently wont work and then next time I take the boat out it works. I have tested the CM599 on the TDT1000 tester and passed with in range...

Snips and Jonny please if possible elaborate why manual has change and is this because of issues?

Just need to confirm the wiring to the DI-FFAMP to rule this out and move forward.

Thanks

Airmar has changed the cable used on some of the production models so the wiring can be different based on model of transducer connected. The manual changed to accommodate Airmar's production change. Follow the manual and if not working as @FishTech suggested you should be working with your local distributor, Furuno France. You could always ask them to evaluate the unit if you feel something is wrong with the hardware.

Thanks for your response, Johnny please note FishTech was responding to a different issue presented by Kayafish. I am based in Australia where the support from your Furuno Agent is limited where they take the path of least resistance and tokenistic replies are given. They will point you in two directions where they will relate the problem to interference or dirty power.

I not stating an issue is at all with interference or power just need to do the troubleshooting and do the diagnosis so I can move forward.

Can you please confirm if the drain wires need to be connected for the LF and HF or not for a CM599Lh as the pictures from the manuals show two different things.

Appreciate your direction and response

Thanks

@lukahill, Jonny's answer is still accurate. Airmar's change in wiring is what prompted our manual change. Left side photo specifies for two sets of single frequency transducers. Right side specifies for CHIRP transducers. You have CHIRP, so follow the picture on the right if you have Airmar's new cable. Follow the "NOTE:" if you have their original cable.

Thanks Fish Tech for your replying, can you please elaborate or explain how can I identify which version of cable my CM599LH is and what is the difference between previous transducer cable and the new CM599LH cable?

My transducer cable is identical to your picture and the manufacturing date is 2023

I would also like to know why Furuno/Airmar decided not to install the drain wire…. Surely someone in Furuno knows the answer considering the manual change

Appreciative your input and response.

Thanks

Is the new cable have no drain wires now on the LF and HF?

Appreciative your input and response.

Thanks

"Is the new cable have no drain wires now on the LF and HF?"
This is correct.
Your picture appears to be done correctly. However, we do recommend wrapping the braid in copper foil tape before it goes in the clamp to make a secure connection.
