I am about to purchase one or the other units. Can someone tell me any major differences between the tzt and the tzt2? Fish finder unit already on the tzt2, I also know the tzt has the dedicated knob. Is there anything the tzt has that the tzt2 doesent have? Any extra info would help thanks

let me re phrase my post. I'm looking for the big differences in the units themselves not the fish finder.

Mad Gaffer,

Here are the differences between the TZTouch and TZTouch2 product lines:

TZTouch is available in 9" and 14" Multifunction Display. There also is a TZTBB available, which is a Multifunction Black Box system that must be connected to a Remote Display.

TZTouchs are sunlight viewable, can be controlled by using the Touch Screen Interface, or with the use of the unit's Rotokey. Or you can utilize a Remote Control Unit (MCU-002 or MCU-004) with the unit.

The units have the ability to save 30,000 user points, 30,000 ship's tracks points, and up to 500 waypoints per route. The TZTouch has very detailed 3D and 2D Charts with high resolution satellite images. The units are also equipped with a NMEA 2000 Network Interface, Wireless LAN Connectivity and you can use the following Tablet and Smartphone apps, NavNet Remote, NavNet Viewer, and NavNet Controller.

You can connect up to 6 TZTouch Displays within a network.

The TZTouch2 Line is available in both 12" and 15" Multifunction Displays. TZTouch2 are also sunlight viewable, and are edge to edge glass front displays, with no external knobs or controls.

The TZTouch2 line comes with an Internal Rezboost Fishfinder (600 watts/1kW), and an Internal GPS Antenna. You can also utilize a Remote Control Unit (MCU-004) with this unit.

TZTouch2 has a NMEA 2000 Interface and NMEA 0183 Output Port, it also has Wireless LAN Connectivity. TZTouch2 has the ability to save 30,000 user points, 30,000 ship's tracks points, and up to 500 waypoints per route.

TZTouch2 gives you the ability to use "ActiveCaptain", where you can find updated information on fuel prices, marinas, and other information that can be displayed on you plotter screen.

You can connect up to 4 TZTouch2 Displays within a network.

Hope this tidbit of information helps with you decision. - Deep Blue :D
