I was between the ducer you are using and the pocket one I am getting. Pretty much same price - ridiculous for a transducer, but the pocket one has the chirp and bottom discrimination. I felt the pocket transducer would match up with the built it chirp modes and I can maximize all the features. I will be posting results as soon as it is installed and in the water.

The transducer you identified does not have CHIRP capability and is transom mount. Used with a TZT 3 internal sounder, it will operate in conventional 200Hz/50Hz mode and not use the "spread spectrum" CHIRP capability of the TZT 3. In any event, the B164 was not one of Airmar's finer efforts in my view.

The pocket mount 165T/265LH-PM488 is a CHIRP transducer. Is that what you meant to say you would use?

I am looking at this ducer, can you tell me how deep you can read on the low frequency? I am wondering if that will get me down to 2000'? If not, i will be doing the 2kw combo i suppose
