Hello, I would like to get advice on where to put Transducers on a NorthCoast Deep V 255HT with twin Yamahas on a bracket. Some hull shots attached. I would like to have DFF 3D and Chirp. Since it is a trailer boat probably rule out the a transducer with Fairing block. I probably need to do a Transom Mount or a Pocket Mount. I intend to use TZT XL MFDs. Please let me know if anyone has previous experience or best solution for Deep V boat approx 30 ft with motor bracket...Thanks

The best source for transducer placement is the boat manufacturer or the dealer. Because the hull is stepped you cannot put a transom mount on the motor bracket (due to air bubbles created by the step). A transom mount would have to go on the step.

One thing to bear in mind is that the DFF-3D transducer needs to be able to "see" out about 120 degrees or you will lose some of the width of coverage. I am a big fan of pocket mounting because generally the water flow will be cleanest especially at planing speeds. If you have a good fibreglass guy and the bilge area 12" or so forward of the transom is accessible, a pocket on the keel will likely be the best option.
You could pocket mount a dedicated DFF-3D transducer such as the 165T-B54 and use flush tilted element CHIRP transducers on either side of the keel. That's what I have and it works great. In the photo below, you can see my 165T-B54 in the center and B175H and B175L CHIRP transducers to either side. My boat is cold-molded wood so I have a large structural wooden keel, which made it more complicated than you will face in a fibreglass boat. My installation was done by the boat builder.
There are a bunch of choices for the CHIRP transducers depending upon what types of fishing you do most.
