What would be the best transducer for shallow water, less than 100 feet .
My main concern is accurate bottom discrimination. Used for commercial dungeness crab fishing. I don't want to look at fish I want the machine to tell me accurately if it is mud or rock, etc, bottom.
All aluminum boat so it can't be bronze .
Thanks!

rmr1,
I would look at the CA50/200-1T with the MB-1100 matching box. Be aware the Bottom Discrimination mode needs to be deeper than 15ft to start working.

Thank You Snips,
Our average depth is 5 fathoms, 30 feet, so I would be OK? Sometimes we set pots a little deeper but rarely over 10 fathoms.
Would I get the same performance(for my needs) with a FCV627?

rmr1,
In that shallow of water the FCV-627 will work with any of the plastic Bottom Discrimination transducers. I would lean towards using the 520-5PSD.
