Transducer # 525TID-BHD / GP-1971F compatibility ?
Will this older transducer greatly diminish the features of the GP-1971-F ?
Which transducer model # should I use in the set up menu of the GP-1971F if I choose to go this route ?

The 525TID-BHD will act as an excellent 1Kw duel freq transducer for the GP1971F but it will not support Bottom Discrimination, Enhanced Rezboost, or Accu-fish. The 525TID-BHD is not in the selection of the software. They will be adding more models to the software selection list but until it is available you can select the 526TID-HDD (B260) 1Kw as your model. Because you select this other model transducer the BD/ERzB/Accu-fish will attempt to work. Although not rated for those features it will let you use them. Since the transducer isn't suitable for those features, the results can vary. Overall, if you already have a 525TID-BHD, I wouldn't change it out. It should work well for you.
