Sounder Rezboost

If I am utilizing a DFF1-UHD+ with a 526TID-HDD transducer and TimeZero professional with the sounder module will I have access to Rezboost?

The DFF1UHD+ does not include the "RezBoost" feature. However, when paired with the 526TID-HDD, it will still support AccuFish and Bottom Discrimination capabilities.

Would I have better sounder performance if I ran the transducer through a TZTXL display instead of the DFF1-UHD+. It is my understanding that the sounder module in the MFD does have Rezboost capability correct. If yes are the sounder modules the same for 10,13, & 16?

The RezBoost feature is not available for TZTXL, primarily because TZTXL now includes CHIRP capability. However, TZTXL still supports Accu-Fish and Bottom Discrimination when used with a compatible CW transducer.

Please see section 6.16 in the TZTXL manual. To run RezBoost on a TZTXL, you will need to have a NavNet TZT2BB or a NavNet TZtouch 3 networked to the XL.

So just to confirm. You are saying the only way I can get Rezboost sounder function to TimeZero is to buy a TZT3 unit.

Because the B260 (526TID-HDD) has multi-elements on the LF side and both are tuned to the freqs they are working at, it is unlikely Rezboost would offer you much. Rezboost is about post processing target separation for C/W transducers. Because of the multi-elements it will not make as much of a difference compared to a transducer that only has a common element like the B60 or V744V. If that is the focus and the other items about the newer units are not important, some money can be saved by getting the TZT3 and having the feature. Do I think you will see much of a difference using that transducer? No

As I go down this rabbit hole of trying to select the best transducer (for Salmon fishing) I was informed that a CW transducer was needed for Accufish. I now see that the B265LH which is a chirp transducer is capable of accufish. Would I get better accufish and overall performance out of the B265LH or the 526? I would also be running a 165T-B54. Is there a different accufish TH transducer you would recommend?

Also, does the DFF1-UHD+ offer better performance than going through a MFD? Data will be sent to TimeZero professional so I don’t necessarily need a MFD.

The DFF1-UHD+ would offer a slight advantage due to it having more circuits but the internal XL sounders are very near the same. It depends on what NavNet series internal sounders being considered. The overall accu-fish results will be about the same but the B265LH is going to provide wayyy better target separation due to CHIRP processing particularly in the upper 600ft. CW and CHIRP start to balance out in the really deep waters. Normally accu-fish is limited from 16ft to 310ft but if I recall correctly the UHD+ processes that a bit deeper.

Just a Johnny Electron stated, Accufish and Bottom Discrimination are limited to between 16ft - 328ft at a speed less than 10 knots. You may be able to go a little deeper, depending on sea conditions and seabed composition, but not accurately down to 500 ft.
