Hey all,
I am using the NAVNET 3D and I need to caluclate set and drift. Here's what I need to do in detail and I'm wondering if someone could walk me through the best way to accomplish this with this unit. Thanks in advance.
1. Drop a datum/float at my current location and mark my position on the NAVNET 3D
2. Pull the vessel away from the datum and wait a period of time (5 minutes)
3. Return to the datum/float and mark the new position on the NAVNET
4. Measure the distance FROM the first point TO the second point
5. Measure the direction FROM the first point TO the second point
6. Calculate my "SET and DRIFT" based on the distance and the 5 minutes elapsed time.
The old Furuno units used to have a RULER function that I can't seem to find in the new Navnet 3D units.
