Hi All,

Has anyone setup their Satellite Compass SCX20 using Navnet TZTouch 14 (first gen) who could assist with respective settings?

Will also settings for Navpilot 7011 if anyone could assist?

Many thanks in advance.

The SCX-20 manual is quite good and comprehensive in describing the setup parameters. Use the diagrams to help you determine the measurements you need for setting the unit location because that is a bit confusing. The other settings you are safe to leave at the default unless there is some special issue with GPS satellites in Australia.

The same is true of the NAvPilot 711. The manual for the control head takes you through the steps for dockside and sea trial setup, which is not especially complicated. The unit should steer quite well left in "full auto" so you should not need to worry about custom steering parameters. We just installed a 711C system in my boat this week and the setup was quick and easy. With an SCX-20 as the heading source, you don't even need to worry about the extra step of calibrating the compass as you would with a traditional rate compass such as the PG-700. Just be sure to set the data sources properly so the SCX-20 is used for heading and position/COG/SOG.

Thanks Quitsa

The SCX20 manual is very detailed, however realtes to TZT2/3, I cant locate on the TZT14 where to input "the measurements you need for setting the unit location".

It's been many years since I had a TZT14. Unless it is buried in the service manager menu, you may have to download the PC software tool and use that to access the SCX-20 settings.

Sorry I can't be more helpful. They made it easy with a TZT 2 or 3 but apparently not with the older generation, which has a different operating system underneath.

There really isn't much to setup on the SCX20. If being used for the DFF3D, the location setting are located under HOME - MENU - Multibeam Sonar - Transducer Setup - GPS Ant and Motion Sensor setup. If not running the DFF3D, there are no location setup needed but if being used as your primary GPS, the GPS mounting location is put on HOME - MENU - Initial Setup below boat length.

The tzt14 does not have a built in interface to custom configue the scx20.

The scx20 will work out of the box without a need to custom configure.

Custom configuration if desired will require a supported third party nmea2000 to usb interface to allow connection of the scx20 (while in a nmea2000 network) to a windows based computer.
