SCX20 configuration

I’m certain I want to update my compass to the SCX20. Is there any timing on V7 for the TZT2 and an update for the 711c to make them configurable? I wasn’t sure where to post this as it involves 3 different pieces of equipment. I was hoping to get something going in early April if possible. I’m assuming that since the PGN’s are transmitted, it would work out of the box. The default vessel parameters are not that far off from mine so I could probably wait a few months to be able to configure with the TZT2 if I didn’t want to bother with the PC method?

Boat was launched today! I did a quick test with the SCX20 sitting on the dashboard of my boat with 3 sided glass and hardtop. WOW! This thing is great. Strong signals from at least 12 satellites. Even without V7, the sensor list can be set up on the TZT2 with the current version of software. Static heading was perfect. If all you need is heading, atmospheric pressure and outside temperature, it works great out of the box with the TZT2. It should only get better once mounted in a good stable location. This will virtually eliminate changes in plotter and radar allignment when traveling in different directions. Based on this quick test, I can wait a couple months for V7 in order to take advantage of the other features of the SCX20.

What other features are you looking to get with v7?

There's not much additional that is important to me but being able to enter detailed vessel parameters to improve accuracy of boat dynamic displays would be nice. And, there's always the hope that heave control will be added for the internal sounder of the TZT2 but I'm not expecting that. What you get out of the box is a tremendous improvement to the PG700 with minimal added cost and well worth the extra expense in my opinion.

My mistake. Turns out ALL of the settings configuration for the SCX20 is available on the TZT2 at version 6.21 on the initial settings menu. V7 is not required. These options don't show up until the SCX20 is connected to the network.
