SC33 with TZT2 sounder

Hi Guys, I’m going to grab a SC33 for heave compensation with my DFF3d, my question is will the heave compensation work with the TZT2 internal fish finder? Thanks!

SeanNC,

The short answer is no. The TZTouch2's Internal Sounder doesn't have the capability to utilize any heave compensation information from any source. :noway

Just to add to this, the DFF3 is stated to have heave compensation, i'm running a TM260 with the TZT2. If i was to run the TM260 with the DFF3, would i see better performance in other areas over the internal fish finder? I have a 7m trailer boat, and the bigger transducers are not an easy fitting option.

Thanks

SeanNC,
The DFF3 is a better sounder than the internal one in the TZT2.
However your TM-260 is a diplexed transducer and the DFF3 uses a non-diplexed one, so they won't be compatible.

Thanks Snips, I thought you could remove the plug and work the wires into the setup still? Is that incorrect?

SeanNC,
The TZT2 internal sounder is single channel that alternates between 50 and 200Khz. The DFF3 is a dual channel machine that doesn't alternate. In theory you could take the plug off and wire it into one of the two channels, but you will only able to look at either 50 or 200Khz, not both. Further more there is going to be an impedance issue as the DFF3 will transmitting into a diplexer.
