I have just installed a new to me MFDBB with the hope of interfacing the older Robertson AP200DL autopilot. My question is to which mode to set the Robertson to work with the MFDBB for navigation.
Position 0 - NMEA 0180 simple format 1200 baud XTE mode
Pos 1 NMEA 0180 simple format 4800 baud inverted XTE-mode
Pos 2 NMEA 0180 simple format 4800 baud XTE-mode
Pos 4. NMEA 0183 XTE-mode
Pos 5 NMEA. 0183 CTS-mode (bearing)
XTE mode Pos 0-4 is only possible with continuous fix system like Loran C, Decca or GPS
These positions can be used for NMEA 0180 data or if one of the following messages are available: APB, APA, XTE, RMB or XTR
Pos 5 is mostly used with sat nav equipment without continuous position fix but can be also used with nav equipment with continuous position fix. This position can be used if any of the following 0183 NMEA messages are available: APB, HSC, BWR, BWC, APA, BWW, RMB go BOD
