removing dozens of unused charts?

I'm new to the TZT3. I have three TZT3 MFDs on the new-to-me boat.
Each MFD has dozens and dozens of charts listed under the CHARTS menu.
Most are locked, outdated, or the wrong ocean. The delete button doesn't seem to remove them.
How do I clean them up? Are they stored in the memory or on a card?

They are on the microSD card in the slot on the back of the unit under a small cover with two knurled knobs. Fastest way is to take the card out and use your computer to delete the unused or expired charts.

Clicking the trash can icon should work also -- is that what you tried?

Thank Quitsa. Okay. Great. I'll pull out the cards. I'll need to go for a crawl to get at one.
No, the trash icon doesn't seem to work. I may be trying to trash too many, too fast.
