RD-33 setup for 2 engines

I have an RD33 that has 0183 inbound from a Navnet vx2 and a simple n2k network with a pair of Honda 225s on it.

If I look in the can bus devices section both engines show up fine. However when I go to rx data - I only get info for engine-0. Nothing for 1,2 or 3. Do I have to assign the other device to engine 1 slot somehow?

Engines/interfaces should have different instance numbers. If you have two both with instance zero, you will see only data from the first engine to show up on the bus. All NMEA 2000 buses should be properly checked for instance conflicts.

How do I change the instance # of an engine. That appears to be what’s going on as when I run each engine with the other off they both report data on engine0. Do I need a more sophisticated n2k device like a plotter in order to program the instance slots? Was hoping i could do it in the rd33 settings?

It depends on how the data is getting to the bus. If you have NMEA 2000 engine interfaces (one for each engine) then typically you can change the instance with a Maretron USB100 and a PC, a Furuno TZT or TZT2 unit, Maretron DSM displays etc. If you have manufacturer engine display, they might have where you can properly setup the instances. If the engines have some manufacturer combined ECM that puts out NMEA 2000 data, the you should speak to the engine manufacturer about how to set the "Data Instance" for each engine.

Cool - I'll ping Honda to find out what they suggest. Thought I might be missing something in the RR-33 settings somewhere...

Appreciate the help.
Cheers,
-Brett
