RD-30 Screen is shot. What do I replace it with? They are both flush mounted and do not want to reconfigure my dash? What are my options other than finding a couple old rd-30's to drop in there? Is it worth having the screens fixed by furuno? Would they do that for these older units?

Thanks
Capt Miles

Good afternoon Capt. Miles,

thank you for your inquiry.

There is a chance that we might be able to fix the RD30's.

Can you provide a photo of what the displays look like when powered on?

We do have a replacement for the RD30, its called an RD33. However the dimensions are a bit different. We do make an adapter plate that will fill the extra space concerning the width, the RD30 is wider than the RD33. However, the RD33 has a taller dimensional height than the RD30.

What do you have the RD30's connected to?

I also have problems with RD30 style screen burning in the middle. I have replaced these with RD33 where possible, but I still have RD30 style screens for our AIS150 and SC-50 as well as remote RD30s that are flush mounted in a console, and not easy to replace .
I have electronicss people who can change the screens over but can anyone tell me where I can buy compatible screens
Maybe it global warming! Despite always using suncovers I have in the last 12 months had this screen burn on two boats in two locations - varying from Navpilot 500 to Navnet 1722, and even a simple LS6100.
There is nothing ever left in direct sunlight and the ambient temperate in wheelhouse at maximum would be 35C.
Can I still get replacement parts from Furuno, or can anyone help with an OEM source?

Furuno only offered limited replacement parts on this unit because the LCD cost was as much as a new unit. The LCD is NLA.
