Pump Placement and Noise Level

I am trying to make provisions for pump placement for the PUMPOCT10-12 pump that comes with the NavPilot 300 PG-S kit.
One option is near the helm steering which would be on the bulkhead of the cockpit area which is also the inside of my cuddy cabin. If I mounted it on that wall, I am concerned about how much noise it generates while someone might be resting in the cuddy.
Anyone have any feedback on how noisy this pump is?
Another option is mounted to a shelf on a stringer in my bilge area, but that would be about 10 feet away from the helm.

I have found the pumps to be quiet for an autopilot pump. They are not like the older octopus pumps that was just awful with sound. Mounting might resonate so not sure I would mount on a shared wall where someone is sleeping. Even small sounds can be bothersome if turning on and off and different time periods. Near the helm is good but I would look for a better area than that shared wall. If you have a rear (second) helm it can always go back with it.

Thanks, so does distance affect operation? I have an option that places the pump about 10 feet of hose length away.
