Hello All,
Im fitting a Fap300 navpilot system with RRU, Scx 20 etc and want to get the full features, point lock, fish hunter drive working. Boat has a suzuki Df250ap and a gp1971F (not smd9). I understand that I cant program the Suzuki gateway with the gp1971f but heard I can do it with the Suzuki smg4 gauge for the engine, has anyone got experience doing it recently? Dealer isn't familiar with it all. Thanks

You cannot program the "Suzuki 4 Tank Gateway" with an SMG4. Your best bet is to remove the SMG4s and add an SMD7 or 9 in their place. If that is not an option, you have to find someone with an SMD7/9/12/16 to program your gateway while it is installed on your vessel.

Thanks for that Info, I will get the dealer to plug in an SMD and program it for me. I was reading the Set-up instructions and it says this :

NOTE: Once complete, you will lose the ability to reset trip and fuel used data as well as fuel economy data on the SMG4 Gauges once the new
gateway is installed. Replacing the SMGs with an SMD would return full functionality.

Would you know why this is and is there any way around it as I'd like to reset fuel used and trip each day? Could I switch the SMG4 back to "Primary Mode " to reset these without losing any preset data for the gateway?

SMG4s do not follow the rules of NMEA 2000 and do not always play nice. The SMG4 displays are themselves a gateway. If you try that you will likely reset the Suzuki 4 Tank Gateway, requiring reprogramming again.
