We have a PG700 heading sensor supplying heading data to our NMEA 2000 network and to our Navpilot. System was installed in February 2014 and has worked great until a week ago when "no heading data available" error message showed up on the Navpilot display.
The three green lights had turned into one red light. I turned it off and on as instructed and the heading display would work from one day to a few minutes. The status check lights appear to be normal in start up.
There does seem to be some correlation between rough seas and the heading sensor turning off. (we were traveling along the South Africa coast) We are at a dock now and the heading sensor is staying on.
Any thoughts on what is wrong. Are there any internal parts that could have come "loose". Do we need to just put a new unit in
Thanks
