PG-1000 reset

Furuno Super Fan
I have a PG-1000 that I picked up second hand. It is wired through a furuno 2k adapter to my TZT2 units. It has been working somewhat ok in my boat but I have noticed the heading deviates off throughout the day. In the morning the heading matches my compass and other equipment but by the end of the day it may be off by 10 degrees. It is the same every trip. Before I go through a new calibration/setup process I thought it would be a good idea to reset the unit to factory settings. I can not seem to find the instructions to reset in the manual or online.
Thanks
Lee

Also, How far away from the electronics and wire bundles should the PG1000 be mounted? A few inches or a couple of feet? Maybe I could move the Pg1000 and make the accuracy better also. Right now it is under the 2 TZT2 displays by less than 12 inches and there are wire bundles running less than a foot away also. I have a lower box that I could move it to that may give me 18-20 inches away from wires/electronics.

You can clear/reset to factory the PG1000 by doing the following:

REMOVE THE POWER CABLE for 10 secs
PRESS and HOLD DOWN [AUTO] and [+]
While holding the buttons; INSTALL THE POWER CABLE for 5 seconds
Release the two buttons.
REMOVE THE POWER CABLE for 10 secs
Reconnect the power cable

You will now need to calibrate the compass following the instructions in the manual.
Clearing the compass and calibration should not be done if currently using your connected Nav Aids.

Placement depends on the RF field of whatever device is around the compass and metal blockage. In General, Flux gate compasses are only for non-metal boats. Most items should be at least 1 meter away but larger electrical wires, motors, speakers, and big metal must be much further away.
