Old transduser on Gp 1971f

I had a koden cvs811 50khz 30 years old on my fishing boat which has broken. I bought the Furuno gp 1971 I put the old transducer (3 cables/ i think it is airmar but i dont know the type) which I don't know if it is only 50 or 50-200khz . I see relatively good at 50khz and even better at 200khz. Does anyone know if the transducer was only 50khz it would show & at 200khz as well? Is there any chance I could damage the machine if I have it at 50-200 and the transducer is only 50khz? I have bought the airmar B45 but i will put it on when I take the boat out for maintenance, probably in 3-4 months. What can I do?

I don't recommend using other manufactures transducers for Furuno Fish Finders. You'll need to find out what specifically is this transducer's frequencies that you are currently have connected to the GP1971F, and then stick to those frequencies that this transducer was designed for. There could be potential risk of damage to both the transducer and to the GP1971F.
