Reminder that the TZT3 has a built in eGuide that can help while onboard away from your normal manual.

Resetting the odometer on a Furuno TZT3 (TZtouch3) involves two different methods depending on whether you want to clear the Trip Log (common) or the Master Odometer (permanent/factory reset).

You’re likely aware that "resetting" the master odometer is usually buried in service menus to prevent accidental data loss from onboard grandkids etc.

1. Resetting the Trip Log (Standard)

If you just want to reset your distance for a specific voyage, use the Trip Log. This is the most common "odometer" reset for daily use.

  • From the Side Data Bar: 1. Swipe from the left edge of the screen to pull out the data bar.2. Locate the Trip Log (or Trip 1 / Trip 2) data box.3. Tap and hold the Trip Log box until a context menu appears.4. Select Reset.
  • From an Instrument Page:
    1. If you have a dedicated instrument page with numerical gauges, tap and hold the Trip Log gauge.
    2. Select Reset from the popup.

2. Resetting the Master Odometer (Service Menu)

The "Total Odometer" does not have a simple reset button in the standard settings to maintain the unit's history. To clear this, you must enter the Service Mode.

Warning: Be careful in this menu; changing the wrong setting can affect your system configuration.
  1. Go to Home > Settings > Initial Setup.
  2. Scroll down to the bottom and select Service.
  3. When prompted for a password (if running older software), enter: FURUNO SERVICE (All caps, with a space).
  4. If a factory PIN window pops up, simply hit Cancel to bypass it.
  5. Select the UTILITY tab.
  6. Look for the Factory Default or Reset section and select Setup.
  7. In the dropdown menu that appears, look for Odometer (it may be listed under "BKClear Odo & Running Time" or similar).
  8. Select it and tap Reset > OK.
  9. Power off the unit and restart it to finalize the change.
