NX-300 with antenna requiring more than 5V input

I have a NAVTEX antenna that requires more than 5V input. Can I still use such an antenna with the NX-300?

The NX-3HD is the correct antenna to use with the NX-300. It is included with the unit with a 10m cable.

This doesn't answer my question. I am aware that the NX-3HD is compatible to the NX-300, but I do not have this antenna.

My question was, if I can use a NAVTEX antenna that requires more than the 5V input delivered by the NX-300.

The NX-300 only puts out 5v. The NX-3E, NX-3H, and NX3HD are recommended for that unit. Currently ships with the NX-3HD. A long wire antenna can be used, but does require component level modifications. The 5-volt DC component would need to be removed from the center pin of the antenna connector.

Even other 5v sources wouldn't be recommended but definitely can't run anything requiring more than 5v.
