Pls send me the optimum settings for my new airmar chirp in MANUAL mode.Installed fine but blocks out too much on auto. :jump

Grumpyjk,
What sounder module and CHIIRP transducer are you using with your 3D system?

Grumpyjk,
If you are using the UHD module just connect the Orange TID wire. If you don't connect the TID wire manually set it for a B-265LH.

I know all that about the orange wire!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Pls respond to my message about programming as in section 7.12.2

Grumpyjk,
As section 7.12.2 deals with ACCU-FISH we will try to help you via a PM.

lets start all over I have a new airmar transducer.265lh chirp.blocks too much out on auto.

Need to know the parimeters to enter on 7.14.2. Sorry for the roundabout. Will use in manual mode as auto blocks out too much.i canyon fish from 300 feet to 2000 ft and tuna troll and chum off of cape cod

Thanks Grumpy :D

Grumpyjk,
Sorry if I am slow but I am still unclear if you are using a DFF3 or UHD module. The ability to change (slew) the frequencies using a DFF3 is initially set in the transducer set up menu not in the operation menus in section 7.14.2. The setting is called Bandwidth and the default setting will be 10% of the frequency that you enter. So if you enter 50Khz the BW will be 5Khz so you would be able to slew the frequency from 50 up to 52.5 and down to 47.5Khz. The maximum the BW setting can be is 50% of the frequency. So 50Khz would be 25 or +/-12.5khz from center frequency. Personally I like 42Khz and 200Khz using a 265LH on a DFF3. I hope that was the information you were looking for.

265lh connected to a DFF1 UHD is my connection. Look at page 7-23 paragraph 7.14.2 of the Operators manual and let me know the settings. This is a Furuno NN3D running 2.12 with Weather. Their are appx 20 settings that can be changed I need the ones that maximize my mfd 12 and 8 looks

Grumpyjk,
Thank you for the additional information, I now have a better understanding what you are asking. While it would be nice to come up with one group of setting that would work for everybody's fishing needs there is just to many variables to do so. When I use my 3D/UHD combination I pretty much use all the default settings in the first menu at is in section 7.14.2 i.e. Picture Advance 1/1, Clutter/Color erase 0%, TVG's 5, TX Rate 20. The default setting for the IR control is Auto but I will reset this to Med just to start. There is another menu under the System Settings page. Here again I will use the default settings. However double check that the Transmission Power is set to Auto and the Bottom Level LF/HF set to -20. Once on the water I will use the system in the Auto Range, Dual frequency and Manual Gain modes. I will use more Gain than most but I would rather see to much than not enough. If there is a lot of life in the water column and I am seeing a little too much clutter I will use the Clutter control (7.14.2) to tone it down. Hope this helps.
