NN3D master loosing position when powering on other NN3D

Hi, I have a NN3D MFD12 set to master. It has a Garmin NMEA2K antenna on the backbone.
On the ethernet network is sounder module, radar, the master NN3D and a second MFD8
Only the MFD12 is set to master.

All works fine and master has position until I power up the MFD8.
When either powering up the MFD8 or putting MFD8 in installation mode after power up the master will lose position and neither unit will have a position for about 10 minutes. Then both will finally have a position.

The MFD8 is not connected to the NMEA2K backbone, it's only connection is by Ethernet to the network hub.

I'm trying to figure out why position is lost every time I power up MFD8?
Any help is appreciated.

It sounds like there might be some type of data loop. I would highly recommend running the wizard one at a time and ensure that the NMEA ports do not have checkmarks set that shouldn't be there. If someone for example has GPS check marked on the MFD8 to accept GPS yet nothing is connected to that port, that would be a very bad thing. Ensure they both are exactly at the same software version as well. You can't mix software revisions.

Johnny, Thanks I ran the wizards again and did find that the MFD12 was set incorrectly to use port 1 for position data, changed that and it resolved the issue.
I still have to understand the power synchronization. When I turn off the MFD8 the master MFD12 will also tun off. What is the correct sequence when powering up to prevent this from happening?

As always ..Thanks!

The NN3D system design is to power up together and power down together. There is a sleep mode if you want to have one in power saving. When powering up, all units should power up but the unit(s) that you didn't direct hit the power button will automatically go to sleep. They are instant ready to use when hitting the power button one time quickly to wake up. There is no option to do differently.
