NN3D communication with New Garmin MFD

I am adding a Garmin 8616xsv to an older boat with and existing furuno electronics suite- 2 MFD's, autopilot, radar, transducer, vhfs all furuno. Can I network them together so they talk to each other and the new screen receives radar and transducer information?

Looks like I can run an ethernet cable from the furuno hub to the garmin screen, right?

Are those proprietary 6 and 7 pin furuno cables nmea1083 or nmea2000? I see you make adapter cables.

Thanks you very much for any help/ideas

Hello mbreymaier,

Unfortunately, no. You can never network other manufactures MFD’s with our MFD’s. You can connect them on the same NMEA2000 backbone to pass data such as Position, COG/SOG, Digital Depth etc… or NMEA0183 data but not network. The 6 and 7 pin connection are Furuno’s NMEA0183 cables but NMEA2000 cables for most manufactures are the same 5 pin connection.
