I display AIS data on both my TZ2 and 1835 radar. I occasionally notice that the TZ2 does not have all the AIS instances the 1835 is showing. I could get my TZ2 to display the same info by going into the LISTS/AIS menu and doing a "REFRESH".
Having to do this suggests a bug. I've contacted service and sent pictures of both displays showing the difference and they said there must be something wrong with my unit and I should take it in to a dealer. I have low confidence in the local dealer so I didn't do this.
I've now had the good fortune to test this on another boat that had both a Raymarine chartplotter and a TZ2, and guess what, the other boat 's TZ2 has the same symptoms.
Anyway, I'm a dedicated Furuno owner and would love to know who else might have a setup that enables such a comparison. owners of TZ2 units without a comparison are to me simply unaware of the issue. One needs a non-TZ2 unit to compare with to see it.
