NavPilot 500 software update

I have an unstable NavPilot 500. Is it possible to run a software update on this?

How is it done and where do I find the software files?

don't know what the current software version is, but when it starts up it says:

Processor ok 6454002-01.03
Controll ok 6454001-01.03

Upgrading of software in the NavPilot 500 series isn't easy. The process is reserved for dealers and our service center. Furuno USA service center provides software updates at NO COST (other than shipping). Those outside our sales and service area should talk to their local distributor for their policies. Software you have is very old v1.03. (roughly from 2005)
The current version of processor software for that unit would be v3.08. Please contact your Furuno distributor for pricing and details of their services. We only can speak for Furuno USA.
