Navpilot 300 drive error

Hi Guys

I need some help here. Im battling with the Navpilot 300. I get a drive overload error on my system. I have heard of a few other people that have the same problem. I will need to power off the pilot, switch on and its ok for about a half hour. I thought my wiring was too thin but my cable run is less than a 1m. The manual advises on 1m length 2.5mm cabling and i am using 2.5mm tin coated silicone wire. My power source is stable. I am running 3 x batteries that run to a bluesea isolater switch to 2 x bluesea bus bars. My TZT2, DFF3D, Navpilot 300 and FI5002 are all connected to the bus bars and there is no problem with the equipment. Is there perhaps a software glitch on the Navpilot 300?

Thanks in advance! :furuno

donjoe710,

Thank you for your inquiry, just a couple of quick questions for you:

1. What Autopilot Pumpset are you currently using, and where and how is it mounted..?

2. What is the current software version for both the NAVPILOT300 and for the TZT2..?

Hi Deep Blue

The pump im using is a PR10. Im only running twin Yamaha 70F outboards. The pump is mounted within 500mm of the hydrive steering helm.

Thanks for the quick response. Im running ver 5.03 on my TZT2. the details on Navpilot 300 on start up is : processor 01/03/01.02 and controller 01.04/01.03. Is there new Navpilot 300 software available? If so where will i find it?

-Don

Some Hydrive systems required the use of an optional lock out kit. When the pilot is engaged does the wheel move?

This must be an older unit purchased last year or purchased outside the USA. We have been shipping ours with newer software for some time. You should also talk to technical support and update the pilot software. It is easily done via USB stick. The TZT2 also has newer software available (6.21).

Do you have a link to the pump specifications? It is important that its power draw both surge and constant draw be within the abilities of the Pilot. The only PR10 units I found during my search was very large.

hi Johnny

The unit was purchased and installed last year. I have the latest 6.21 software so the last option would be to update the pilot software. Is this software available? Here is a link to the pump we normally use in SA. I have a mate that has the same pump using the 711C pilot running twin 115hp outboards and no drive errors. https://www.hypro.co.uk/products/hydrau ... ower-unit/ its the PR10 1.0.

Do you know what the upgraded software fixed in the previously loaded software?

-Don

The 700 series is not the same pilot. The 700 series can support larger pumps than the 300. Based on the link you provided the PR10 should work fine with the NP300. You will need new software. When you say SA; do you mean South America or South Africa?
