NavPilot 300 data input

Took for sea trial today my new electronics. I got the pg 700 to calibrate and have 3 green lights. The autopilot will execute a 90 degree turn both ways, a 180 degree turn both ways
(Alert on both touch 2s stating turn in progress and progress shown on control head), and will keep the boat on course on a desired heading- no alarm as long as speed was set to manual..
In Sabiki mode, it alarms that there is no speed data
In any other mode it alarms there is no Nav data.
Chart master is 15" touch 2 and that shows up on pilot menu and pilot and pg 700 show up on the touch 2...
Reconnected NMEA from pilot and had same result
What did I miss..
Thank you for your time

First, I guess you know we have newer software available but that won't change your current problem. Your problem is you have no source of speed. Normally you need either SOG from your GPS or STW from a sounder or depth unit. Do you not have GPS wired to the Autopilot? Using manual fixed speed will not allow you some features of the pilot which requires good (real) speed data.

Hooked up are: pg 700, DFF3-d, DRS4DNXT, TZTL15F, TZTL12F, NavPilot 300Transducer is 165T-50-200-SS260. I would think the speed data and Nav data would come from one of the touch 2s. When I was calibrating the compass, the TZTL15 was also a option to choose on the autopilot along with the pg 700.
I went back into the installation menu as on page 3-17 and on the device list is the pg 700, tztl15, and the processor. I went thru the incoming PGN list and 127250 vessel heading was black but none below that from page 2-8were black except the proprietary ones 130821,130823,130827
I refreshed and rechecked and no new PGN showed. Refreshed again to make sure I hit the correct button as it flashed from NO to YES back to NO very quickly.
Any other info I can provide that would be useful?

If you are going to use the TZT2 as your GPS source, then you must turn on the appropriate PGNs from the TZT2. Once you provide Position data, SOG/COG to the NMEA 2000 bus, the source (TZT2) must be selected in the pilot under the sensor selection. The boat position and speed should be verified in a data box on the pilot to make sure that it is updating.

Yeah...figured it was something stupid on my part. Went into initial set up and to NMEA and turned on the ones that seemed relevant. I then checked the autopilot and the PGNs showed up. I did this while boat on the trailer so I have no idea if it all works as it is supposed to but given the error messages I was getting, this should clear it up.
I could find nothing in the installation directions stating this needed to be done and it seems easy enough to include. Maybe I missed it but if there is nothing there, it seems easy enough to include even if for most it might be a "DUH" thing.
Thank you for the prompt feedback and help-much appreciated

I had the same issue with speed when first setting up my 711c. I had to go into the TZT2 and turn on a specific set of PGNs that the AP can use.
I'll try to take a look at my TZT2 units this afternoon and verify which sentences I am sending out on the network for the AP to use.
BTW... IIRC the required PGNs are documented in the Furuno AP install or user manual(s).

Here's a snapshot of my TZT2 screen showing which PGNs I've turned on for the autopilot. I don't think all are required but it's working for my 711c. Click on the image to see a larger version.

Thanks for the info seaveepete- I am still missing something...the PGNs that seems to be important 12984,12985, for Nav data and route /WP info are ON in the tztl15f BUT not on for the autopilot ( gray not black)got all of the other ones on and identified-
Nav shows dashed line which states it will automatically pick up that data source (page 3-19)-as boat not moving don't know if that makes a difference and it will send when there is data to send...seems iffy...
I appreciate the effort!

As Johnny suggested, those sentences may not be be getting sent out onto the network by the TZT2 unless you are in Nav mode so they would probably appear as greyed out.
Another thing you may want to check on is whether your AP unit is seeing one or both of your TZT2 machines. I have 2 and I was having a lot of issues with the initial AP setup until I made sure that the AP was ONLY seeing one of the TZT2 units - my chart master. Also, I did NOT turn on those required PGNs on the second TZT2 unit. Finally, I always turn on the chart master TZT2 unit and let it boot completely BEFORE I power on the AP control head. After those two units are on I power up the second TZT2 unit.
All I know is that this procedure works for me so I always follow it.
Good luck.

After 4 days of pretty extensive usage, I would say that all functions properly. This piece of equipment makes salmon trolling so much easier! Thanks for the help in getting me straightened out.
