MCU004 power issues

The usb cord that the mcu004 isn’t long enough where I have it mounted between my helm chair and just adding an extension between the tzt3 and mcu004 doesn’t work. It’s not getting power for some reason. I don’t know if there is a special hub or usb cable that is powered or what I need to do. I’ve tried both tzt3 units I have in the boat and neither make the mcu004 work. It came this way from the factory

The rules of USB are often overlooked in the age of ethernet and NMEA 2000.
USB 1.1 and 2.0 are limited to 5 meters/15 feet. (MCU004 is a USB 2.0 device)
USB 3.0 and 3.1 are limited to 3 meters/9 feet.
To go beyond this limitation you will need to have a powered hub as a junction point or use a powered/amplified extension cable.
Both of these are "current off the shelf" items. We do not sell them as a Furuno product.
