M260 depth range

I have a 587 combined with m260 wetbox transducer. Shooting through approx 12mm of fibreglass I can only read the bottom to approx 380 metres on 50khz before it loses detail. Is this normal and would I get more range from a B164 through-hull. I'm looking for a solid return in 400 metres

You will probably be at the B-164 limits at 400m, a better transducer to look at is a B-260.

Understand about the fairing block. One other option to consider is to take the transducer of the M-260 out of it's yellow box and glass it into the hull. The M-260 has the same elements as a B-260. Just a thought.
