I live in Northern Broward County Florida and I am seriously considering replacing my 2 simrad chart plotters, auto pilot, sonar and radar with Furuno. However, I can't find anyplace that has any current Furuno equipment. I was given the name of an area rep by a local dealer, who did not have any displays, and suggested I call him. I tried to call the area rep, Adrian, twice with no response. If I am going to spend 10's of thousands of dollars on refitting my boat, I want to see the equipment in use, and also have the equipment installed by people that specialize in Furuno. Getting support from Simrad was always like pulling teeth. I have always been told that this is where Furuno shines. However, so far, I am at loss in finding help. Please advise. The equipment will be used for off shore fishing, so I would like someone who is knowledgeable about that application of your products. If there is a fishing charter boat in the area, using your newer equipment, I would even pay to see it in use. Please advise.

Right now, the reps are probably at the NMEA conference. They don't recommend specific dealers in the forum.
There is quite a variety in market types for boating, as you have observed. If after the NMEA event you don't get to the right people, check with Bluewater Books and Charts; they don't sell what you're asking about, but are well connected with different installers in the area who may be dealers.
