Hrp pump ?

I recently purchased a nav pilot 300 system with the hrp reversing pump. It says in the manual to locate the pump within 6 ft of the steering cylinder. However most videos including the one from furuno show the pump being located under the center console which is more like 12 ft from the cylinder.

Thank you for your inquiry.
In order to properly research your question can you please confirm which manual you are referring to; the installation manual of the Accusteer HRP pump itself? or the installation manual for the NavPilot 300 autopilot? Which page number or section number are you referencing?

The accu steer manual that is online as i didnt get one with my pump. It looks to be page 10. I was going to post a picture however not getting it to load.

Goldline1,
Thank you for the clarification.

"Ideally, the location of the pump-set should satisfy the following conditions:"

The key wording here is "ideally". These are the manufacturer recommendations
. They are to be followed if at all possible. However, certain installation particulars of any vessel may require deviation from these recommendations.

You are correct. Many times the pumpset cannot physically be located within 6' of the steering cylinder because of limited space or some other particulars of the vessel.

To add to that, what they say in the manual is not exactly correct. Their recommendation is only for the larger (less common) pump systems. It is irrelevant for reversing motor systems like the HRP pumps we sell.
