Hello, and a Rev question

Hello to all,

We are the owners of a new to us Cruisers Yachts 405. The boat came with a RDP149 but I am unsure of the exact RADAR dish. I have pretty much lurked through here looking at what Ineed to update the system with the latest Furuno files.

Q1 is what should I look for as I boot up the system?

Q2 is the system did not come with a SD card for the C-MAP for the Galveston/Gulf area. I will be obtaining a card shortly. What is the latest Rev available for C-MAP MAX Wide NA-M023?

Thanks all for the assistance.

If ever around South Shore Harbor in League City I hope to see you.

Randy

For the software version, you can get the full number from the bottom of the screen during boot-up or you can run the self test of the machine after it has been booted. To run the self test [MENU- SYS Config - SYS Setup - Test & Clear - Mem I/O test- Display unit test]

The radar antennas are no longer sold for the Vx2. but you should be able to find something on the used market.

18" dome 2.2KW - RSB0094-075 with cable
24" dome 4KW - RSB0071-057 with cable

You would need to ask C-map about the newest version of their card.

Thanks JE. It has a functional RADAR, I was just hinting that I am not sure which model. Only that it is a round dome style Furuno.

I was hoping another Gulf sailor may know the answer to the C-MAP question for the Rev. The C-MAP email is a dead link.

Gonna boot it up today, maybe post a screenshot and go for updating if needed. Big thanks again JE. I enjoy reading your replies and your knowledge at helping folks.

If you have a dome radar, take a look at the plate at the back beneath the cable in the blue area. You will find the number plate. Get the RSB number and the last three digits of the FCC number. If you tell me what it is; I can tell you the full radar model number for a C-map programmed Vx2.

I am glad you enjoy the forum and someone reads my ramblings :-)
Thanks

I will do that. I finally did stumble on a C-MAP store that displays the current Rev for the NA-M027 map card. A local shop has one but they are way behind on Revs and were asking way too much. I did order the SD card and it is on the way.

Successful update of software from 304 to 403.

Remove the RDP149 and I have all 4 data inputs occupied and the ntwk port is occupied with a cable. Now to track where and what. I know data 1 is for an RD30. I am assuming one of the others will be from the depth transducer in the hull. Could one also be connected to a Simrad AP26? Running out of daylight to pull the screws on that unit.

RADAR dish seems fairly large, maybe the 24” model.

Thanks JE for the compliment and the information. Truly nice information.

Have discovered today that Data2 on the RDP149 is connected to a Em Trak B100 AIS transceiver. Is this transceiver something I can program from the Furuno RDP? Or do I need my laptop with the AIS software? To me it appears to be simply supplying target information to the chart plotter.

As far as the Em Trak B100 AIS; you can't program it from the NavNet. It isn't a Furuno product so I don't know how it is re-flagged but I know you can't use the NavNet.
