Dear sirs,

according to https://www.navionics.com/media/wysiwyg ... ide_ES.pdf
the GP1871F is able to use the Navionics function "Plotter Sync", for transferring points and routes between Furuno GP1x71F units and the Navionics mobile app (App Boating). Nevertheless, I have not been able to get any information about how to get this to work. Could you confirm that Plotter Sync is compatible with Furuno devices and point me to some information about how to do it?

Regards,
Pablo Espinar

Navionics is touting the feature; have you spoken to them?

Looking at their website on the feature, it appears the the plotter needs to be compatible to show the changes but the changes are being made to the chart card NOT directly to the plotter. I would recommend speaking with them directly for any clarification on this.

Yes, I have contacted to them and they say that I have to contact with you...It is a bit frustrating :huh :

"Pablo,
If you check the settings on the Furuno, you will be able to set up WIFI to connect to it with the Boating app.
If you are not finding these settings, please check owner's manual and contact Furuno for specs.

I will contact Navionics to see what they say. Sorry they couldn't answer anything about their advertised feature. I will get you an answer.

Hi Johnny,
have you got any luck with the people of Navionics?
Regards,
Pablo

I haven't talked to Navionics. I am working with our parent company for which no answer yet. I haven't forgotten. If it indeed involves steps in our unit; we should have documentation so I am checking if our house is clean before going to the neighbors :). I will get an answer;Promise.

I am still waiting for our parent company to answer but someone told me that the feature does indeed work. The key is both units must be connected to the same wifi source/hotspot. Ideally either Navionics of has the app and advertises the feature or Furuno should have some instructions posted. I will push them to do so. When on shared wifi, the app seems to sync and work well with the GP1871F/GP1971F units.

Our Parent company got back with us. Navionics "Plotter Sync" is not considered compatible with the GP1871F/GP1971F. They think this feature will be officially adopted with v5 software. V5 software has no estimated release date at this time. While having them both connected to the same wifi spot seemed to get things working, it isn't officially supported.
