Furuno TZT 10xl Looses bottom over ~11 knots

Hello,

I’m a happy new user of the Furuno system. My setup is:

Furuno TZT10XL powered by a dedicated 100Ah lithium battery

1 kW in-hull Airmar M135M transducer

Installed on a 19 ft RIB

During my first trip I noticed an issue: I lose bottom reading at speeds above approximately 11 knots, even in shallow water (around 20 ft).

When drifting or moving slowly, everything works perfectly and the detection is excellent. I can clearly read the bottom and see great detail in depths of up to 400 ft.

Previously, I was using a Lowrance HDS with the same transducer setup, and it was able to maintain bottom lock at 25 knots in depths over 300 ft.

Because I’m new to Furuno systems, I believe I probably need to fine-tune the MFD sonar settings.

Could someone help me with the recommended setup for saltwater fishing?

Thank you in advance for your help.

There’s nothing wrong with your TZT10X if you’re getting good soundings at rest.

What transducer model did you select in the set up MENU?
