I'm looking for Driver to install this into a laptop
Windows has detected the unit, but does not recognise it without the Drivers
I have searched everywhere with lots of variations in search engines, but all Dead ends
Can anyone Help Please

You can connect the GP39 to a PC to send NMEA0183 sentences to a charting program and upload/download waypoints and routes. These are simple ASCII type files and require no drivers.

What is it you are trying to achieve?

I have "TMQ C-Plot" installed & working correctly,
But it won't connect to the GP39
When I go into "Windows Device Manager"
I find the GP39 installed under "Other" & it's "Tagged" Windows will Not install it Correctly because it Cannot Recognise the "GP39 Head Unit"
When it's installed correctly in the Windows Device Manager, then C-Plot will be able to connect to the "GP39 Head unit"
"What am I trying to Achieve??"
I am trying to make the connection between
C-Plot & the GP39
But I cannot make the connection until "Windows Device Manager" installs it Correctly!

Hi Wayne,

You cannot use the USB Port on the rear of the GP39 to connect to a PC. If this is how you are connecting it please remove the connection. You may cause damage.

To connect the GP39 to the PC you must use a USB converter or an Opto Isolated Serial Port Adapter. Products like the ActiSense USG-2 or OPTO-4 or similar. These connect to the TD (White + Blue -) on the power cable of the GP39. Then, load the driver for the adapter you are using. ActiSense drivers load with Windows Update so with an internet connection its normally fairly automatic.

Once its loaded and visible in Device Manager, check the COM Port number and set CPLOT to look at that.

Hi & Thanks for your reply
Yes its connected with a Serial USB converter.
But Windows will Not recognise the connection,
& I have already tried to get it loaded with Windows Update. So Unfortunately it has not been automatic, I am Very advanced on the computer side, but this type of connection is new to me. At least I now know, Thanks to you, that it uses ActiSence drivers
I'll get back down to the boat 2morrow, I've decided to link my phone to get the internet at the boat, the local internet Network connection at the boat is very weak & slow, so it might help Windows Update load up the drivers with a better internet connection. At this point in time, I'll try anything. lol
I'll post back any update after that
Thanks
