Furuno FCV 587 --SS264W ACCU TRACK /BOTTOM DICRIMNINATION

Hi,
I´ve just bought the FCV587 (10/2012 constr.d.)
and
Pair of SS264 W
and thought I bought the best available stuff for this Combo.

If I do the update 2013 (does it still exist?) on my fishfinder could it work with the option bottom discrimination and fish accu ??

I think the SS264W are top of line.I couldn´t believe that it works with the low budget ducers and not with the high quality once.

Which software does exist for the 587 till now?

Thank you for your question. The Bottom Discrimination Mode in the FCV-620/587/BBDS1 uses both frequencies to classify the bottom. With that in mind is why it is nessessary that both frequencies be taking soundings from the actually the same location/plane. While it would be possible to have both transducers next to each other on the same side of the vessel, it is also possible they could be pointed in slightly different angles. To ensure getting the most accurate soundings is why only dual frequency transducers will be enabled for the BD mode.
