furuno 587 correct transducer selection

hi folks
im delighted with the performance of my new furuno 587 which is connected to an airmar
B260.

in the tranducer selection menu ,there isnt a 526 tid-hdd in the list,

so im wondering which ducer should be selected until i can send in the unit
to have the latest sw version installed.

is this sw upgrade something an end user could do himself
im an electronics tech ?

Hi Mickyd,

You should confirm if your FCV 587 have the software version 1.02.

Check the answer of cap. Jack Sparrow on the post "FCV-587 v1.02issue"

I had seen that earlier post

however i have the option of selecting Ikw in the selection window

i will verify exactly what sw version i have

You will need to have the 587 updated to V1.02 to use the 526TID-HDD.

Hi, I need to update my FCV-587 that has 1.01 software and I need to install a tm260. I am a IT and know how to uptade and upgrate. I do have a PC ( that I use to update fimwares and has a serial port) could you send me info how can I update my firmware. I heard that the new firmware is 1.03.
