I bought new Fish Finder FCV587. after fitted to my boat it reads depth of 300m about 930 feet, but it suppose to read 1200m (3600 feet) . What should I do in the setting to fix this issue?

If you're referring to the range scale not going deep enough, go to Menu-System-Range and adjust the range steps as needed. If you're referring to your transducer not showing deeper depths, then what is the transducer that is being used.

Hi The Reaper,

Transducer model
520-5PSD
600w
If the issue is in settings, please send me step by step details with screenshots if possible.

Ensure transducer setting in Menu-System-Transducer is set to the 520-5PSD. With a 600W transducer, the depth ranges are generally 800-1200ft for the low frequency (LF) and generally 400-700ft for the high frequency (HF). These are the depths under perfect conditions. Under normal conditions, I would expect around 1000ft on LF and 600ft on HF.

All of the operational and menu settings/explanations are located in the Operator's Manual. Here's a link to the manual: https://furunousa.com/-/media/sites...fcv587_fcv627_operators_manual_d1__112012.pdf

Thanks for quick response, what would be the Transducer model that covers 3600 feet.
Why the manufacturer Furuno state on website 3600 feet for FCV587? We are fishing at 3000 feet in the Red seaScreenshot_20250611_225248_Samsung Internet.jpg

That range specification (range scale) is referring to the display's capability to display the water column down to 3600ft in combination with an appropriate transducer. The range scale must be capable of showing a picture to a depth deeper than even the best, connected transducer can reach. Typically, a good range scale setting should show the bottom picture about 1/2 way to 3/4 of the way down the total scale. A 600W transducer --like yours-- will never reach that depth of 3600ft. Notice the "Power Output" spec right above it that says "600W or 1kW". Even a 1kW transducer can only get down to around 2500ft on LF under perfect conditions. Also, the FCV587 is a minimum of 11 years old and electronics will degrade over time and with use.

If you want to reliably view depths down around 3000ft, you'll need a fish finder capable of using a 2 or 3kW transducer. Our FCV295 or FCV1150 fish finder can do that. It would then need to be paired with the appropriate 2-3kW transducer.

Hi
I just bought the new unit FCV587 2 months ago. Is it possible to get a Transducer with 3600 feet depth that fits on the FCV587 ? What is the model of Transducer ?

imad75,

The maximum depth that you may get with the FCV587 is about 2500 ft depth, and you'll need to use the CA50B-6B utilizing the MB1100 Matching Box.

- Deep Blue ;)

Hi,
Do you mean that to get the 2500f on FCV587 I need to buy Transducer CA50B-6B and matching box MB1100?
