FCV 295 with R99 xducer

I have new install on 33 ft sportfisher. FCV 295 with R99- will trimming the cable by 10 or 15 feet adversely affect the performance? I can zig zag the cable to make it work however trimming the cable will save weight and beautify the installation.

It is OK to shorten the R-99's transducer cable.
