FCV 295 & transducer recommendation

I have an FCV 295, and would like to buy the best transducer for my application. Boat is a 19' Boston Whaler Montauk. We're fishing in salt water, 70-180 fathoms primarily. The Whaler hull provides some obstacles. It has been common, where I live, to use thru-hull transducers, mounted on an adjustable stainless pole, mounted on the transom. The transducer is out of the water until needed, then lowered into position. Is there any advantage in using this method and thru-hull transducer over a TM unit? I don't really have a need for speed and temp, but want the best transducer to see in the depth mentioned. Thank you in advance!

Makika,

Pole Mounts are common for smaller fishing vessels used in Australia and New Zealand. That system is used to get the transducer much deeper below any type of turbulence layers. You could pole mount a B265-LH, or the B275-LHW which would provide you a wider beam on High Frequency. Or the other option is using a TM275-LHW which is the transom mount transducer.
