The band width setting actually is the frequency slewing (adjustment) range. The default setting is 10% of the frequency. So the band width of 50Khz will be 5khz, making your frequency adjustment range from 47.5 to 52.5Khz. You can set the band width to 50 percent of the frequency, so 50Khz could have a band width up to 25Khz. However the R-199 doesn't have a wide frequency response so the default band width settings are OK. Also if you set the band width higher you will find that the FCV-1150 is blocked from working in three frequencies ranges 53-65khz, 111-139Khz and 173-182Khz.
