FA-50 not TX. Also, how to access FA-50 from TZT14, NavNet

Hello,

Previous owner had connected ppl & gray wires to trigger Silent. I separated them and covered with electric tape. Light on the FA-50 .. only show RX flashing.

I was told I need to reprogram the FA-50 through the TZT14 (circa 2012) to input new MMSI, ship’s name & change TX/RX parameters. The manual only addresses accessing the FA-50 with a PC in detail, although it indicates that an External monitor can also program the FA50.

How do I find the screen on my TZT Navnet to access the FA50?

The software on the FA50 would need to be updated via a PC and hub following the instructions posted under the FA50 product page at www.FurunoUSA.com. After the software has been updated (to accommodate GPS rollover), then the unit can be edited directly with the same PC by entering the HTML page built into the unit by following the setup steps in the manual. The TZT series one has a built in browser to speak directly with the unit under HOME- MENU - INITIAL SETUP but the software should be updated with a PC first and easier to use a PC to configure it direct since the PC is already connected.

Thank you very much Sparky Wire. That’s perfect & very helpful. The AIS is now TX & RX. However, it is TX the old boat’s name, etc and I am now trying to adjust things but faced a login & password. The previous owner’s old notes indicate that the login data was left as the generic ones by the dealer.

I could not find any login data in the manuals. Could you please direct me as to where I may find this information?

These are both case sensitive.
