I just installed a VX2 with a ETR-30n sounder module. This replaced an FCV-292 sounder. My transducer is a bronze flush mounted 50hz/200hz unit (no speed or temperature) that was attached to the FCV-292. There is no label to be found anywhere on the the transducer or cable. The 292 worked great but it was time for change.
Upon opening the FCV-292 this is what I found:
switch S1 1(on) 2(off) 3(off) 4(on)
JP10 set at A
JP11 set at A
Board 02P6208 A50kh indicating "C" 200khz indicating "C"
Is there any way to determine the tap settings or any other required adjustments from the FCV-292 information. I manually set the frequencies at 50kz and 200kz in the VX2, without any other adjustments. Is there a way to identify the transducer through measurement? Transducer is at least 12yrs old.
