Electric trolling motor control via tzt3

I would like to have the ability to hook a rohdan or other similar brand offshore trolling motor to the tzt3 system to control the trolling motor over a setup on a reef location or anchor point ,or track a route on the plotter. I presently use electric trolling motor in the anchor mode using the remote control to jog it left or right over a spot . I belive this can be acompilished through the nav pilot system via tzt3 chart plotter

Just wondering if the company was looking into this in the future I know that simrad /lowrance has integrated with rohdan with a NMEA 2000 gateway addition from rohdan to control the electric trolling motor from the helm via simrad autopilot . I have a Furuno vx2 system now and was planning on upgrading it soon to something newer, it’s on a 2006 triton 351 triple Mercury setup that came with the boat from the factory

We are working on a software that they can communicate with. Just hobby and non-commercial. We've made progress, but we haven't reached the final yet. We are planning to port it to the computer first and then to the android.

Hi guys,
I have the TZT13xl and wanting to purchase a troll motor. Has there been any update as to which brand Furuno will be compatible with?

I will offer a suggestion based on my painful experience. #1 do not get a Rhodan trolling motor. They have a terrible reliability record. Mine has had to have every major component replaced (circuit boards, propulsion motor, steering motor, remote control receiver, remote fob) and Rhodan quickly stopped helping and made me pay for expensive parts. #2, pick the motor based on your performance requirements, shaft length, etc from the more reliable models such as PowerPole. The internal GPS and remote controls work quite well and interfacing with the plotter would be nice perhaps but you can essentially do whatever you need other ways. I use mine mostly for bottom fishing, especially for tautog. They are extremely localized on structure. I just take the boat to the waypoint on the plotter and engage the trolling motor (when my Rhodan is working, which is not that often).

Powerpole has a phone app that provides a chart-linked interface as do some of the other manufacturers.

Thanks for your quick response and appreciate your suggestions. I’m also needing it for bottom fishing from my research looks like I need 87” as a minimum going by others recommendations. In Australia looks like my options are Minkota, water snake, Garmin, Recon. I see that Furuno are looking into it so I’ll just wait hopefully not too much longer. Cheers

I know it's been two and a half years but my previous comment is still applicable...
"It is something that we are looking into. However, there is no time frame for it."
