Dumb (easy) DRS4D cable question

Finally getting around to adding an on-hand DRS4D to my NN3D setup. I'm using a HUB-101, and as a result the HUB and MFD will be a ways apart. I am *assuming* that I can just remove heat shrinK from the "siamese" cable and separate a greater length if the cable so that the ethernet can reach the HUB and the power can reach the MFD8.

This seems obvious but wouldn't it be super-stupid if I started the process and found some shield or something under the black shrink wrap.

Just a reality check. Save me from myself :)

Your assumption is correct. You can split them apart when needed.
